Swap Ideas Day

 Swap Ideas Day

3 simple ways to make your writing stronger:

1. Strong verbs are better.
Jane walked into the room. She was angry. (telling)
Better:
Jane stomped into the room, her fists clenched. (showing)

2. Fewer words pack a punch and make your writing tight.
He began to take a swing at the ball.
Better:
He took a swing at the ball.

3. Don't use an adverb in place of a strong verb.
He spoke softly. (remember: Use "ly" words sparingly!)
Better:
His voice dropped to a whisper.

"Keep reading and dreaming"

God bless,
Susan
