National Chocolate Caramel Day

When I was growing up, making caramel apples meant unwrapping little caramel squares (and sneaking a few when Mom wasn't looking). Those caramel squares made and still make the best caramel apples.
The best squares were wrapped in little bits of foil. THOSE caramels were dark chocolate and they never made it into the saucepan.
Ah, aren't eating memories the best kind?
