National Young Readers Week

Some suggestions on how to raise a reader:
1. As long as it is age appropriate, let them read what they want. My son read comics. He loved them. And he's a great reader now.

2. Read to your kids. Share your own love of literature.

3. Get thee to a library! Check out books. Listen to the storyteller. Make it a special place to come to with Mom or Dad.

I would love to hear your suggestions for helping a child learn to love reading.

Susan:

Wonderful tips. Tip: Get your children involved in cooking and baking. This way they are reading directions and learning math at the same time in measurements of ingredients.
